Seakeeper 26

Seakeeper 26

Designed to eliminate up to 95% of boat roll, the Seakeeper 26 is sized for vessels ~70' - 84’, up to ~75 tons. Unlike traditional external fins, the Seakeeper 26 has no outside appendages, requires only modest electrical power, and can be installed virtually anywhere on board.

GYROSCOPE PERFORMANCE

The roll is the most unpleasant and confusing movement when coming from the mainland, uncomfortable, tiring and probably the greatest cause of seasickness, it is the inevitable price to be paid by many, for the pleasure of being on the water.

Using the gyro-dynamic principle, the vacuum-sealed Seakeeper stabilizers exert a powerful anti rolling torque that virtually eliminates rolling, without dragging or damage caused by appendages such as fins, installed outside the body shell. The state-of-the-art Seakeeper movement control system actively controls the hydraulic braking of the sphere and increases the effectiveness of the anti-roll torque on all types of hulls for optimum performance and under all sea conditions.

ELECTRICITY

The required supply voltages are: 208-230 VAC (+/- 10%), 50/60 Hz, single-phase protected by a 30 A circuit-breaker for the motor housing and 24 VDC protected by a 10 A circuit-breaker for the control unit.

COOLING

The gyroscope bearings and the electronic control unit are cooled by a brine circuit and a seawater temperature exchanger. The installer must supply a seawater pump with a flow rate of 15.1 L / min at 6.9 bar maximum at this temperature exchanger. The ambient air temperature of the compartment in which the gyroscope is installed shall not exceed 50 ° C.

FOUNDATION

The shipyard or installer is responsible for the design of the foundations and their layout and must ensure that these foundations can safely transfer the gyro loads through the hull structures.

SECURITY

The braking system automatically locks the gyroscope so that it can not generate antiroll torque in the event of a system fault, power supply fault, or loss of brake pressure. The braking system can also be locked from the keypad or by stopping the power supply.

LOCATION

The gyro system is a torque effect device and therefore will not necessarily be installed in a specific location. However, for fast surface boats where vertical acceleration may exceed ± 1 G (0 to 2G), it is recommended to install the gyro from the aft half of the boat.

CONTROL

A keyboard and a touch panel screen are provided to start, use, and control the gyro.

ALARM

Sensors and alarms as well as any related stops are provided to allow unattended operation. The values of the bearing temperature, vacuum, sphere angle, braking pressure and movement sensors are managed by the electronic control unit this information and / or alarms are then sent to the control screen. , a history of alarms and faults is stored in the controller memory, for our technical services when needed.
